Graduate Profile

Graduates of this study program with the title of Bachelor of Social (S.Sos) have produced graduates who are competent in the world of community development. The competence of the graduates consists of five fields.

First, Community Developer, which is a profession that analyzes, assists, and develops intervention models so that the community develops and is empowered to realize a religious, just, and prosperous society. Community Developers can become managers of empowerment and poverty alleviation programs if they enter the state area, such as in the Village or Regional Government, Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos), Ministry of Religion, Ministry of Villages or BKKBN. This is evidenced by the number of PMI Study Program alumni who work as Social Worker Service Units in the Ministry of Social Affairs, facilitators of the National Program for Independent Community Empowerment (PNPM-Mandiri), facilitators of the Family Hope Program (PKH), Village Assistants and similar programs.

Second, CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) workers or commonly called Community Development Officers (CDOs). CSR stands for Corporate Social Responsibility, which is a community developer who is mandated by a company to manage company funds for the community.

Third, Policy Analyst. As a policy analyst, PMI graduates are able to analyze social problems and follow-up plans in the form of intervention and / or assistance actions, which from this analysis are born policies that are solutive and able to improve people's lives. In this case, PMI Study Program graduates are able to become actors who make and evaluate social policies.

Fourth, Islamic Philanthropy Manager. Philanthropy or charity is thick with activities or activities of giving - generous sharing. This activity is usually carried out by amil zakat institutions such as BAZNAS, LAZIS, and other philanthropic institutions. PMI graduates who work in the field of Islamic Philanthropy can combine philanthropy or charity activities with empowerment activities, so that recipients of philanthropic funds are not only given, but also empowered until they are independent.

Fifth, Social Entrepreneurship Actors. If community development activities are directed in the business world, it will give birth to social entrepreneurship. This step is necessary because community empowerment programs require sustainability. This will certainly happen if the perpetrators of social entrepreneurship and the assisted community are equally prosperous. For this reason, a community facilitator can utilize the network he has for entrepreneurship and transmit his business ideas to the community. An example of this activity is Muhammad Yunus with his Gramen Bank.
